Webster high turndown burners can provide up to 12: 1 turndown ,depending on your required operating conditions to help reduce on and off cycling. Burners that are not properly designed to match boiler load requirements will continuously cycle on and off resulting in "purge or cycling losses".  Purge losses caused by cool, purge air passing through the boiler, removing heat from the boiler and dumping it out the stack wastes energy and increases fuel costs. In addition, frequent on and off cycling also increases maintenance costs due to excessive component wear from starting and stopping. Benefits you can realize by using high turndown burners include:

Case Study:

Webster burners were recently chosen for a $100 Million Central Utility Plant to deliver reliable steam at Fort Detrick, Maryland, a key U.S. bio-defense facility. Five (5) Webster 1200 BHP high turndown burners designed for 10:1 turndown and 20 ppm NOx were utilized on this project. A case study on this project is available at http://www.chevronenergy.com/case_studies/fort_detrick.asp .
